A recording won't start

meaty says Fix
Microphone access is off System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone → turn meaty on.
System audio capture failed meaty needs macOS 14.6 or newer and the System Audio Recording permission. To be confirmed
Device not found Your selected microphone was unplugged. Reconnect it or pick another.
meaty needs a connection to record Starting needs a connection. Once started, a dropped connection loses nothing — see Record a meeting.

Only my voice was recorded

meaty fell back to Microphone only because system audio wasn't available, or Record microphone only is on in settings. Check the System Audio Recording permission above.

Speakers aren't named

meaty reads names from the meeting app only with the Accessibility permission: System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility → turn meaty on.

The floating recorder isn't showing

That's by design when nothing's happening: it appears only while you record or when meaty asks Are you in a meeting?

I closed the window while recording

The recording keeps going. Closing the window hides it; use the menu-bar icon or ⌘ + ⇧ + M to bring it back.

An update won't install

Updates wait until you stop recording. Stop, then click Update and restart.

Logs and crash reports

Open Preferences → Logs → Show to find meaty's log files. They contain no audio and no transcript text. Crash reports are sent to meaty automatically, without audio.

Still stuck
