## Set the language

meaty detects the language by default, and handles conversations that mix
languages. You can pick one instead:

English (US), English (UK), Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese,
French, German, Italian, Dutch, Hindi, Japanese, Chinese.

Set it for one recording with the language chip, or as your default in
**Settings → Language**. Pick carefully: a wrong language can hear nothing,
in which case meaty falls back to detecting it.

## Teach it names and jargon

The **glossary** holds names, products and terms meaty should spell right —
up to 500 of them. They're used for every recording. When meaty spots a
near miss in a transcript, it suggests adding the correct term.

Already misheard? Fix the word everywhere in the meeting at once — see
[How notes are made](/docs/how-notes-are-made#correcting-the-notes).

## Speakers mixed up

Open the transcript, choose **Edit speakers**, then rename, merge, or
press and hold a name to move a passage to someone else. See
[Speakers and people](/docs/speakers-and-people).

## "Speakers aren't told apart"

When the main transcription service is unavailable, meaty uses a backup
that doesn't separate speakers. The transcript is complete, as one voice.
