# Recordings auto-delete

## What's deleted, and when

The **audio** of a recording is deleted automatically two days after it was
recorded. The deletion runs regularly in the background, so it happens
within about an hour of the two days passing.

## What stays

- The transcript
- The notes, action items and tasks
- The meeting's place in search, series and tags
- Voice data used to name speakers: *(To be confirmed.)*

## Listening back

For those two days you can play the recording in the meeting.

## Don't keep audio at all

**Settings → Privacy & data → Keep recordings.** Turn it off and:

- audio already kept is deleted **immediately**;
- future meetings are still transcribed and summarised, but their audio is
  never stored.

## One consequence

A failed transcription can be retried only while the audio still exists.
After two days — or with **Keep recordings** off — it can't. See
