# Notes didn't generate

After you stop, a meeting moves through **Sending audio…**,
**Transcribing…** and **Making sense of it…**. If it stalls, find the case
below.

## It's still on your device

The recording hasn't uploaded. Look for **Pending uploads** in your library:

- **Waiting for connection** — it uploads when you're back online.
- **Upload failed — tap to retry** — tap it.
- **Out of minutes — tap to retry** — see
  [Plans and minutes](/docs/plans-and-minutes).

## "The transcription failed"

The speech-to-text service didn't answer. Click **Retry transcription**.

- Retrying works while the recording's audio still exists — two days, or
  not at all with **Keep recordings** off. See
  [Recordings auto-delete](/docs/recordings-auto-delete).
- If it fails again, meaty says **It failed again. Please try later.**
- A failed transcription doesn't use minutes until a retry succeeds.

## "AI notes unavailable — showing the raw transcript"

The transcript is there; writing the notes failed. In the web or desktop
app, apply a template to the meeting — that writes the notes again from the
transcript.

## The meeting isn't there at all

A recording with no transcribable speech and under 30 seconds of talking is
discarded. *(To be confirmed.)*

## An imported file failed

The import shows **We couldn't process this import** — tap to discard it,
then check the file plays and import it again.
